The Greatest Compliment

The greatest compliment one can receive is that from a fellow artisan.  One you've looked up to and admired for years.  Yes, they might look at your work and critique it pieces because they create the same style you do, and they are a true expert in said medium.

BUT then you get a phone call that melts all that self-doubt away.  And they actually are wearing your design as you are speaking... and they are on their way to an appointment where others will see your work on this incredible artisan.  OMG what a genuine compliment you have paid this tender artisan heart.

As our feast of greatfullness approaches, we're all readying ourselves to share love, laughter and a wonderful meal with loved ones. (Beginning as soon as I'm done with this post, I'm going to start the baking - cherry pie and Aunt Noreen's Corn Casserole!)

One of the people I am so thankful for is YOU!  Without your comments, feedback and friendship I wouldn't be the person I am today.  Everytime I get a comment on my blog, I know that someone took a little extra time to read my post and share their thoughts.  In a world where it seems we're running 90 mph and never really getting our whole "To Do" list done, the fact that you chose to spend time on my blog sharing your feedback with me is really special.  And I sincerely appreciate your efforts!

All Things Bright & Beautiful

Happy Mother's day to one & all... The moms with two-legged kids, the moms with the 4-legged furry kids, and the Mr. Moms.  All of you are so important in sharing love, teaching responsibility and helping to raise wonderful adults.  I'm so blessed to have a wonderful mom that always taught me the value of honesty, kindness and being genuine.  Our family was so rich in love, we had enough to share with all of my friends, my siblings' friends and their siblings as well. 

One thing as a child, and then as I became a young adult that you could always, ALWAYS count on was something fresh out of the oven & delicious when I came home from school, with mom waiting, asking "What did you do today?"  And then the most precious gift of all... she really listened, creating what are now wonderful memories of years gone by! 

To my mom and all of my friends that are moms, your ears are worth so much more than their proportionate size! :)  Much love, many hugs, laughter to last a lifetime.  Happy Mother's Day!

Pins & Needles

I'm busying myself in my beads and wire... waiting... waiting for the phone to ring this morning.  Our furry son Cody is having a surgery this morning to remove a fairly large tumor in a really sensitive spot.  He walked into the vet all happy and bouncy... I on the other hand am a nervous dog mom.  I had to get a LARGE coffee on my way home... to soothe my nerves.  Dog 1 - Mom 0.  :)  

They did the initial blood work before prepping him for surgery and said he is totally normal.  Now I know my son, and he's anything but normal. LOL  After all, he is mine.  But his levels were all excellent, so now I sit.  I wait.  I bead.  And tomorrow I'll have some great pictures to share with you.  At the moment, I just think healing thoughts, and wait for a call from our wonderful vet!
